The Human Resource Generalist provides guidance and support in a variety of areas to include benefits, wellness, employee relations, recruitment, compensation, and training. Recommends and develops policy, counsels employees and supervisors in regards to policy and applicable laws, and administers all company benefit and wellness programs.
Responsibilities:
Administering, renewing, and implementing benefits programs (health, vision, dental, life, disability, workers compensation, COBRA and FMLA)
Coordinating with recruitment team to ensure the effective hiring of experience in applicants
Provides direction and support to supervisory staff regarding application of labor laws and company policy to ensure consistency
Coordinating employee separation communications and related documentation, conducting exit interviews
Maintaining HRIS systems, Employee Handbook, and SOPs
Maintaining knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and works with the Human Resources Manager to ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
Reinforces and encourages a union free environment by participating in effective employee relations programs.
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources or related field
Experience: Five or more years HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge and Skills:
Thorough understanding and ability to apply federal, state and local regulations related to personnel issues (benefits, wages, ADA, FMLA, OSHA, etc.)
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
Strong time and project management skills; well developed sense of urgency
Computer proficiency in Microsoft and related software
Strong planning and organizational skills
Team-oriented, ethical, credible and trustworthy
Able to see the big picture while managing the details in a disciplined way
