About the Position
This position is a hybrid/on site position performing the duties at Lakehurst, NJ.
Specialty Systems, Inc./Castellum has immediate openings for a Senior Test Engineer with the below described skills and experience to join our team of technical professionals supporting our Department of Defense customer at the Joint Base MDL. In this position, you will have a high-profile role within the software/hardware test teams supporting the development and on-going in-service engineering of unique Department of Defense systems. Ideal candidates will have a broad set of technical skills and must be able to work both individually and within a team environment. As a member of our team, you will be able to experience the professional satisfaction of playing a key role in ensuring that our Department of Defense customers’ systems that have a direct impact on our country’s warfighting and peace-keeping capabilities are performing at optimal levels. This position is located at our customer site location at Joint Base MDL. In this position, you will work our customer’s Compressed Work Schedule which consists of working four 9-hour days (M-Th) and an 8-hour day (F) for the first week of a cycle followed by four 9-hour days (M-Th) and being off on the second Friday for the second week of a cycle. This results in a 3-day weekend every other week!
Job responsibilities will include:
· Leading the development of overall test strategies, planning for integration and system testing activities, inclusive of testing with hardware simulators and actual hardware components.
· Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules.
· Coordinates integrated testing activities. Reviews and evaluates test requirements to insure completeness of test program.
· Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.
· Developing formal Software Test Planning documents.
· Management and tracking of multiple test efforts. Coordinating testers, test sites, plans, etc.
· Preparing documentation for the performance of Test Readiness Reviews (TRR).
· Leading/participating in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of automated testing tools for software testing exercises.
Position Qualification Requirements:
· Must have an active clearance at the Secret level with the ability to obtain a clear Single Scope Background Investigation. If no active clearance, must be able to obtain an interim secret level clearance prior to start of work.
· Must have a BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Candidates who do not meet the degree requirement but have extensive testing experience may be considered.
· Must have Security+ CE or the ability to obtain one within 3-6 months.
· Must have at least 5 years’ experience performing the system testing functions listed above, with at least 2 of those years being in a test lead role. It is preferred that at least 1 year of this experience be on Department of Defense systems.
Technical:
· Experience developing end-to-end testing strategies.
· Experienced leading a test team in the development of software test plans, software test cases/procedures, and workflow integration of all Test Engineering products.
· Experienced at leading a test team in the execution of software testing phases - unit, integration, and system level testing.
· Experienced in the development of software test reports.
· Strong analytical skills in software troubleshooting, software testing methods and techniques, with a focus on test automation.
· Experienced in the implementation of testing best practices, including the implementation of automated testing tools and bug tracking repositories.
· Experienced with architecting and developing system testing, configuration testing integration and deployment of Windows, and or Redhat Linux platforms in complex network configurations.
Security Clearance Notice:
· Applicants selected must have a U.S. Government security clearance of secret level or higher and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Salary Range:
This position has a salary range of between $115,000 and $140,000, based on the candidates match to the skill and experience levels required.
Travel Requirements
Occasional travel may be required. Trips are generally 3 to 5 days in length
