The general purpose of this position is to design and create unique outdoor spaces throughout the Heritage Village properties. This will include in-depth consultation, evaluating existing conditions like topography, vegetation and sun exposure while exploring creative vision.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Serve as lead designer for landscape architecture projects of appropriate complexity and provide support on design projects to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
  • Investigate and recommend solutions to relevant problems of grading, spatial organization, and site utilization.
  • Recommends material use and species to be used for beautification projects.
  • Prepares suitable graphics and presentations to communicate design intent.
  • Present projects to other internal and external stakeholders
  • Review sites and designs with HVMA employees and other stakeholders to ensure understanding of landscape designs to be implemented.
  • Conduct site inspections for quality assurance.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a working knowledge of the materials, methods and equipment required to implement landscaping and beautification projects.
  • Must be able to work independently, identify problems and solutions, and communicate verbally and in writing with multiple departments.
  • Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and residents.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or higher.
  • Must have a valid state of Connecticut Driver’s license.
