Job Description

Summary:

Perform tests and inspections on chemical, dimensional, visual, and physical properties of metal and alloy products at various aspects in special alloy product manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare metallic samples for chemical analysis and other analysis and inspections.
  • Run prepared samples on chemical analytic instruments, particle size distribution laser analyzer, hardness tester, microscope, and other analysis devices.
  • Prepare addendums as necessary to correct chemistry issues of molten metal against the requirements.
  • Maintain quality records including filing, scanning, updating, creating, etc.
  • Effectively communicate with manufacturing personnel and other relevant staff on the quality inspection results and production needs.
  • Maintain and update procedures and other quality documentation as needed.
  • Prepare certificates of analysis to accompany shipments to customers.
  • Input data to produce reports.
  • Enter data into SAP QMS including inspection plans, routing inspections, material master, and cert profiles.
  • Assist with QMS implementation.
  • Follow up on NCR and initiate corrective action when necessary.
  • Perform verification and effectiveness audits for CAR’s.
  • Assist with documentation filing.
  • Assist with calibration scheduling and calibration.
  • Act as Quality Manager designee for a special quality lab assignment.
  • Maintain 5S+1 in lab and office areas

70-80% of time this person will be doing chemical analysis.

Must Have:

1. 0-3 years of experience as a Quality technician, Lab Technician, etc
2. Chemical analysis, Chemical testing, or material testing experience
3. Detail oriented and able to make calculations and precise data entry
4. Follow Standard Operating Procedures, and familiar with following quality standards and procedures
5. Some sort of SAP, Quality Management System, ERP, Oracle, etc background

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
