Job Summary:
The Production Quality Engineer is responsible for creating, implementing, and maintaining all quality standard work instructions. The Production Quality Engineer is a champion for quality throughout various departments; ensuring parts adhere to customer, company, and industry standards. The working environment is approximately fifty percent working in the Quality Engineer office/Quality Lab and fifty percent working on the plant floor.
Job Description:
Tasks:
- Create, implement, and maintain the following: quality procedures, work, inspection, and gauge instructions, inspection record sheets, document control, etc.
- Ensure parts of the highest quality, adhering to company and industry quality standards and customer print specifications
- Establish and maintain all quality documentation in Plex Management System according to customer and industry standard requirements
- Train, implement, and maintain quality awareness, processes, procedures, and work instructions throughout the plant
- Understand and enforce control plans and process sketches
- Lead problem solving activities/line studies on the plant floor for internal and external – customer and supplier – related quality issues
- Act as a champion of quality and work with engineering and manufacturing to implement and verify corrective actions
- Prepare reports on corrective actions and quality alerts both internal and external
- Audit systems based on ISO9001/IATF16949
- Complete the yearly IATF16949 internal audit
- Answer complaints (8D, QR, PRRs) to the customer, preparing quality alerts and permanent corrective actions (PCAs)
- Coordinate resolution of purchased part concerns
- Any additional responsibility deemed necessary by management
Job Specification:
Competencies:
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Knowledge of GD&T
- Knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes
- Demonstrates competency in MSA and SPC
- Knowledge of IMDS
- Ability to use gauges such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.
- Ability to perform gauge R&Rs
- Ability to read and understand CMM data
- Ability to problem solve utilizing Six Sigma methodology
- Ability to use, update, and maintain the quality management system
- Ability to maintain confidentiality on products, services, and processes
- Ability to work in a team environment
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience as a quality engineer or equivalent position
- Experience in gauge use preferred
- Experience with ERP system – Plex Management System preferred
- Experience with MiniTab or other analytical tools
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher is preferred
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
