The Quality Control Technician will primarily work with production teams and project management to help manage the companies Quality Assurance Program.
Essential Job Functions:
- Safety-sensitive position.
- Maintain a highly visible presence on the shop floor, conducting inspections of manufactured product and both inbound and outbound inventory.
- Facilitate and support risk assessment, root cause investigations, corrective actions, problem solving, and closure activities related to nonconforming products, warranty issues, or quality processes.
- Perform data and trending metrics analysis related to quality system requirements and goals.
- Assure data accuracy and communication to all divisional teams. Maintain COQ (cost of quality) results below business goal.
- Create, revise and review quality system documentation related to job activities.
- Conduct internal quality system and/or external supplier audits as assigned. Assist with corrective action and problem-solving efforts.
- Conduct incoming and final inspections when required.
- Manage and complete special projects as assigned.
- Plan and implement training activities for production associates as needed.
- Review and approve final QC acceptance documents when required.
- Create job specific documentation as needed.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Nurture a safe workplace through constant safety awareness and participation.
- Maintain written and communicated machining standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and all safety standards in assigned area.
- Support other departments as necessary.
- Perform additional assignments in accordance with the Manager's direction.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations and quality fundamentals.
- Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and understand schematics.
- Ability to make responsible decisions and take independent action to solve problems.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Products and ERP systems) with a commitment to accuracy. Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets along with a basic understanding of manufacturing computer software (ERP preferred).
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in an organized manner.
- Ability to work in a demanding, multi-task environment.
Education and/or Experience:
- Associate’s Degree in related field.
- Quality and/or manufacturing, material background preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year of related experience. Wood and/or metal manufacturing environment preferred. Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes.

Pay: $26.00 - $31.00 per hour
