The main function of the Lab Technician is to perform tests on rubber compounds, using the various pieces of equipment in the Quality Test Lab. Precision testing of compounds is vital to determining product integrity. It is critical in protecting API’s quality reputation within the rubber industry. This position reports to Cody Weltzin, Quality Manager.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for following all safety rules.
• Maintain neat and clean work area.
• Responsible for testing rubber compounds according to customer specifications.
• Responsible for analyzing test data and providing input on ability to release material.
• Cutting rubber samples when necessary (retesting/resampling)
• Preparation of rubber test specimens (milling/curing/stamping)
• Troubleshoot various issues (test failures, retesting, data recovery)
• Data entry of test results and completion of customer data packets.
• Tagging/releasing of finished goods

This is an 8-hour day shift or afternoon shift position. You will be working M-F 7a-3p or 3p-11p.
