NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION:

The Compliance Technician supports the Quality Manager / Vice President in the development of new programs, and provides support to production personnel, and engineering as assigned by the Quality Engineer or Manager in the form of capability studies, problem solving team involvement and Design of Experiments (DOE). Ensures 100% compliance with internal and external Customer Specifications and Requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plays a main role in ensuring that the company’s and customer’s quality requirements are met on assigned products, area, and functions.
  • Reviews Customer Specifications and Requirements to ensure that products comply with requirements.
  • Serves as the direct customer Quality contact for problem resolution (i.e. CAR contact).
  • Provides guidance to and assists in identifying the root causes of problems and institution of corrective action while participating on Problem Solving Teams (8-D).
  • Provides input in the qualification process of new equipment and/or processes.
  • Provide logical judgement of potential solutions to problems.
  • Provides SPC, Capability Study, Gage R&R, DOE, and Inspection analysis support for the operating units.
  • Participates in the development of PPAPs, PSWs, Process Flow Charts, and Process FMEA’s.
  • Conducts internal audits as assigned.
  • Provides guidance to the Quality staff in the absence of the Quality Engineer or Manager.
  • Any other duties or special projects as assigned by the Quality Manager / Vice President /Engineering Manager.

AUTHORITY:

  • Holds shipments that fail compliance review.
  • Able to shut down any process which is producing non-conforming product.
  • Authorizes return of samples, as needed, to verify customer complaints.
  • Holds stock from shipping which has not passed or completed testing.
  • Issuance of RGAs, CARs and initiates re-work/replacement orders, as required.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE:

  • Positive team attitude.
  • Projects completed within timeframe assigned.
  • Unexcused or unreported absenteeism not to exceed 2% of total hours worked.
  • Implementation of Quality policies and directives from the Quality Manager.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Three (3) years of industry compliance or quality related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent organization and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all groups of people.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadline.
  • A common-sense approach to problem-solving and setting priorities.
  • Have a working knowledge of problem solving techniques.
  • Possess a working knowledge of the ISO Quality System standard.
  • Advanced skills/knowledge of “Windows” based software programs.
  • Laboratory experience, including metallurgical knowledge is preferred.
  • ASQ certification(s) preferred.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
