The Bar Philadelphia is looking for passionate, certified personal trainers to join our team! As an independent contractor personal trainer, you will have the opportunity to use our facility as your own, while bringing in your own clients. Trainers who utilize our gym for their business will have complete flexibility with their schedule, their pricing, and how they train their clients. They will also have the ability to build their book to their liking, with no interference from anyone. The only thing we ask is that you honor your commitments, show up on time, clean up after yourself and your clients, and represent our facility well.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized programming to your clients based on their fitness goals, needs, and abilities. This includes designing workout programs, demonstrating exercises, correcting form, and motivating clients to achieve their goals.
  • Ensure the safety of your clients. You must be knowledgeable about proper exercise techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
  • Collect the emails of your clients so that they can be sent liability waivers from The Bar PHL.
  • Conduct initial assessments to understand your clients' fitness levels, goals, and any limitations. Track their progress over time through measurements, fitness tests, and feedback to adjust their workout plans accordingly.
  • Maintain clear and open communication with your clients to understand their needs, address concerns, and provide support. Be responsive to inquiries, schedule changes, and feedback.
  • Manage your business. This includes scheduling appointments, handling payments, maintaining client records, and marketing your services to attract new clients.
  • Stay up to date on the latest fitness trends, research, and certifications to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • While you are not responsible for overall gym maintenance, you should ensure that the space you use is kept clean and organized. This includes wiping down equipment after use, returning weights to their proper places, and reporting any equipment issues to the owners.
  • Ensure that you have appropriate liability insurance to protect yourself and your clients in case of accidents or injuries. Familiarize yourself with any legal agreements or contracts related to renting the gym space and abide by their terms and conditions.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Personal Trainer with a nationally recognized certification (e.g., NASM, ACE, ISSA).
  • Current CPR certification
  • Previous experience working as a personal trainer
  • Strong knowledge of exercise science, anatomy, physiology, and building programs effectively for clients of all backgrounds
  • Good communication and motivation skills, as well as time management
  • Reliable and responsible
  • Understanding that you must adhere to the rules set by the gym and set a good example when representing the gym as a whole

Compensation:

Our trainers are all independent contractors, so they pay a monthly rent to use the gym and equipment. All other compensation from clients is yours.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $60.00 - $100.00 per year

Expected hours: 5 – 50 per week
