**POSITION OVERVIEW: **

Commercial Metals Company is searching for a Mechanical/Piping Engineer to participate in the design and construction of the recently announced steel micro mill to be built in Berkeley County, West Virginia.The Mechanical Engineer shall have demonstrated experience in the design, engineering, and construction of industrial facilities. Upon completion of the West Virginia micro mill, the Mechanical Engineer will join the corporate Engineering, Technology, and Innovation team where they will be responsible for design, project, and construction management of small to large industrial projects throughout organization. Areas of work to include development of functional/performance specifications for process and material handling equipment/systems, water system design, and industrial piping system (hydraulic, lubrication, grease, water, air, utility, etc.) design.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: **

  • Work with operations team to define scope, develop budgets and schedule
  • Analyze mechanical and thermal devices to find solutions for repairs and innovations
  • Alter and modify design to meet requirement and to eliminate malfunctions
  • Complete designs and provide value engineering
  • Provide support and design for CMC plant engineering departments
  • Design and/or supervise and coordinate detailed engineering for new construction and expansion projects
  • Develop construction specifications, bid packages, budget cost estimates, construction schedules, as required to insure completion of projects on time and within budget
  • Develop, establish, and maintain engineering budgets.
  • Administration and surveillance of the construction quality assurance program
  • Coordinate and account for any changes in scope of work
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for each project
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned, and requirements may vary from time to time

**EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: **

  • Registered professional engineer license is a plus but not required

  • Experience working on fast-track projects

    • Demonstrated experience and/or skills working on multiple projects of varied degrees of complexity at the same time
    • Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills
    • A team player and goal orientated
    • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)

**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: **

  • Technology, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited engineering college or university

  • Meeting established target dates for projects

  • Ability to work with in project scope and budget
