Mechanical Engineer – Conveyors/ Automated Equipment Description

Our client in the Automated Packaging Solutions industry is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to add to their team in Joliet, IL. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for the design of conveyors and automated packing for food-grade products. If you are looking to be an integral part of the process from inception to delivery, this is the role for you! Our client needs someone to bring their expertise to participate in customer discussions, support the production team, and ensure testing is up to code on completed products. To be successful in the role, you must have 3+ years of Conveyor Solution OR Automated Packaging Equipment Design. Mechanical Engineer – Conveyors/ Automated Equipment Responsibilities

• Participate in discovery, customer, and sales team meetings to understand project scopes
• Design mechanical solutions including conveyor and peripheral packaging equipment
• Present comprehensive engineering solutions linking design elements to customer requirements
• Develop detailed drawing packages for approval and release
• Revise drawings as required through detailing, manufacturing, or field changes
• Work cross-functionally to ensure the design is understood and implemented properly
• Troubleshoot any issues throughout the production process
• Collaborate with the electrical engineering team for project automation and design elements
• Support project management at all levels with system commissioning
• Support project, departmental, and business objectives for direction, quality, budget and schedule
• Design projects using SolidWorks, and organize and manage SolidWorks files
• Interact with customers as needed during various phases of the project.

Mechanical Engineer – Conveyors/ Automated Equipment Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering Degree Required
• 2+ years of Mechanical Conveyor Solution OR Automated Equipment Design required
• Proficiency with SolidWorks required
