In this role, you will be a Test Engineer (or Person In Charge, PIC) within the Running Resistance Group (RRG), which is responsible for full vehicle spec setting for aerodynamics and road load, and where RRG is a group within the Driving Performance and Aerodynamics Test department (also known as CR3, or Chassis Research 3).
- Entry level test / project engineer responsible for running aerodynamic tests in a wind tunnel and / or road load coast down tests. Creating test plans and schedules for vehicle or model tests. Running and gathering data for the tests during vehicle development process. Creating test report summaries to be shared with vehicle development teams. Work with design and styling groups to implement countermeasures as needed.
- Communicate with Group Leader, Assistant Technical Expert, Technical Expert and Technical Leader to confirm plans, resources, and progress.
- Look for opportunities to innovate and apply best practices for Road Load or aerodynamic prediction/testing.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
- 0 – 2 years of working experience in the automotive industry (or equivalent).
- Lift 50 lbs
- Occasional travel.
- Will be around combustible liquids (fuel).
