Next 2 Nature Landscape is a well-established design/build and maintaince firm. Serving residential and commercial clients in Bismarck, North Dakota and surrounding communities. We have a team of dedicated landscape professionals with a reputation for excellence in all aspects of outdoor living space design and construction.

Next 2 Nature Landscape is seeking a Landscape Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate would have a proven knowledge of landscape construction and landscape materials. This individual should have the ability to meet with and develop landscape designs that meet customer specifications.

Landscape Designer’s Role:

  • Develop landscape design that meet customer specifications
  • Provide complete take offs and estimates for landscapes, hardscapes
  • Present design and/or proposals to customers
  • Overcome objections and obstacles to close sales
  • Maintain professional and technical trade knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Ensure all job notes and plan details are accurately prepared for smooth transition to Project Crews
  • Follow up with customer post-sale, perform weekly walk-throughs throughout the project to ensure customer is satisfied
  • Review design plans with crew staff and assist in project layout
  • Communicate with the client and crews on a daily basis
  • Oversee projects to ensure design specifications are met during the construction process
  • Maintain company installation standards on the job site
  • Manage multiple job sites and crews simultaneously
  • Manage personnel effectively and efficiently to meet completion dates
  • Train and promote the development of team members in the best practices of installation and company standards
  • Monitor all tools, equipment, and machinery for needed maintenance
  • Track and record all job materials and hours worked accurately
  • Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times
  • Other duties as required

General Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in landscaping design; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Horticulture Background
  • Highly motivated, self-driven individual who is detail orientated
  • Excellent attention to detail while working in a fun & fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to read landscape plans, blueprints, and scope of work plans.
  • Familiar with industry standards for construction of hardscapes such as patios, walkways, retaining walls
  • Knowledge of plant material
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Able to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and background (i.e. clients, contractors, vendors, other designers)
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and occasional Saturdays to accommodate delays caused by weather
  • Punctual and dependable
