The role reports to the Plant Finance Manager and is part of a team responsible for delivering all aspects of plant management accounting with specific responsibility for working capital, capex and cash flow management, variance analysis and budgeting & forecasting.
Your Responsibilities:
  • As part of regular reporting cycle, provide Plant Management Team, Business and Finance stakeholders with prompt, clear, comprehensive reporting summarising monthly performance for working capital, capex and cashflow and liquidity against targets. Specifically:
  • Deliver monthly review P&L and balance sheet to ensure that all general ledger accounts are recorded accurately and according to accounting polices by the Accounting Service Team.
  • Act as the key liaison point for sector and group FP&A and Treasury teams in understanding short- and long-term liquidity and cash needs and managing intercompany funding arrangements.
  • Work closely with Plant Treasury Lead to provide accurate weekly cashflow forecasting to Group Treasury function.
  • Complete monthly sales reporting and analysis including unit based net revenue (UBNR), cost splits, revenue differences, operations excellence, and trade splits.
  • Liaise closely with Plant Management Team to ensure reconciliation of FA packs to Monthly Operating Report (MOR).
  • Responsible for supporting JPMS with (MOR) submissions.
  • Responsible for providing working capital and cashflow downloads to the plant team on WD4 once all month end closing entries are complete.
  • Responsible for reviewing working capital levels with the GL Accountants & Metal Accountants and ensuring any accounting entries required are made to ensure that balance sheets are recorded accurately.
  • Develop and submit Plant budgets, forecasting templates, and long-range plans within the JM Clean Air planning and forecasting cycles focusing on Working Capital, Capex & Cashflow forecasting.
  • Work with the Plant Finance Manager to perform and control monthly analysis of obsolescence and other provisions related to the working capital accounts.
  • Lead Plant working capital and cash management driving initiatives to improve working capital by analysing risks and opportunities, setting stretch target plans and monitoring plan execution.
  • Support the Plant Finance Manager in ensuring site adherence to group policies related to working capital and cash accounts.
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of P&L, working capital, balance sheet and capex drivers and performance, and work with the Plant Management team to translate this into actionable insights and action plans.
  • Prepare ad hoc Plant financial analysis to support Plant Management team with tactical and strategic decision-making including process optimisation suggestions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Plant Management team and Sector team stakeholders involved in Plant management accounting processes and support the development and adherence to local accounting policies and procedures.
  • Work closely with the Sector FP&A team to provide a robust suite of standard operational management reports and dashboards enabling monitoring and measuring of key cost drivers to support management insights.
  • Work closely with Plant Treasury Lead to provide accurate weekly cashflow forecasting to Group Treasury function
Requirements for the role:
  • University degree qualification
  • Professional accounting qualification, e.g. ACA, CIMA or equivalent desirable
  • Significant experience in financial cost management and analysis
  • Significant and substantial experience within Finance function preferably in the manufacturing environment desirable
  • Experience of chemicals / automotive industry desirable
  • Ability to work collaboratively and provide appropriate challenge and insight, often under time pressure
  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent tasks, often to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with people from different disciplines, cultures and backgrounds
  • Good analytical skills
  • Inquiring approach, constantly challenging the status quo and seeking improvements to existing methods or alternative routes to achieve business goals desirable.
