Position Summary:
Milacron is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our team in Batavia, OH. As a Financial Analyst you will be a key member of the Finance team. Provides analysis and delivers insight that links operational reporting to business strategies. Facilitate operational changes through robust analytics and drives plant profitability by clearly presenting opportunities for productivity and efficiency gains. Maintain and implement internal controls over inventory management. Provides capacity and productivity analytics for Batavia, OH, expense analysis and pro-active communication of spend trends with clarity and urgency.
This role serves as an Operational Business Partner providing real time support and analysis for plant manager and monitors Labor and Overhead costs to ensure accurate backlog/hours/efficiency reporting accuracy while working directly with operations leaders to make changes that impact the P&L. The individual must be able to gather data independently as well as from others. Must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a priority. Individual must be able to effectively engage personnel across all levels of the organization.
Work You’ll Do:
Metric Reviews and Analytics
  • Financial analysis and support for Operational Leadership team
  • Prepare monthly operating Labor and Overhead costs models (plant P&Ls and hours analyses)
  • Identify, review, and explain trends in plant hours and expenses and articulate opportunities for improvement to improve plant profitability, efficiency, and productivity
  • Analyze excess and obsolete inventory and work with plant management to mitigate P&L exposure
  • Effectively manage the financial impact of inventory levels in conjunction with supply chain
  • Monthly expense reviews
  • JDE process support for inventory, manufacturing work orders and sales orders, including JDE accounting programs, error resolution and master data integrity
  • Product cost model and cost out project support
  • Standard versus Actual Cost analysis
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for information and analysis
  • Remain knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and all aspects of Milacron’s market
Other Responsibilities:
  • Support Finance leadership
  • Collaborate with MIME Controllership North America Team to implement best practices and standardize processes
  • Assist MIME North America FP&A Team with quarterly forecasting, annual long-range planning and budgeting processes
  • Works to develop strategies to achieve organizational goals; understands organization's strengths & weaknesses; Analyzes market and competition; Identifies external threats and opportunities; adapts strategy to changing conditions
Basic Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word required
  • Cost accounting
  • Experience with JD Edwards (E1) ERP
  • Bachelor’s degree –Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Minimum 0-5 years manufacturing plant experience in an Accounting or Finance role
