Starting Pay*: $53,947/hr – $79,839/hr (GS-07/08/09/10/11)
The employee will serve as a welding engineering consultant to various activities engaged in propeller fabrication and repair work and NFPC manufacturing operations. The employee will be responsible for qualifying welders and assisting in the preparation of work instructions. As such, the employee needs to have a background related to welding as well as strong communication and technical writing skills. The employee will receive on the job training and close supervision and guidance from more experienced employees.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Organizes and maintains welder qualifications. Determines importance of information and reports out as necessary.
- Performs welder surveillances as part of the NFPC Quality Assurance program.
- Prepares work instructions for welding operations at NFPC.
Qualifications Required for the Position
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to communicate with various levels at the site and the shipyard.
- Ability to collaborate and coordinate with staff members in various departments as needed.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute a project.
- Attention to detail.
