This role provides the opportunity for an experienced leader to do all kinds of logistical and
operational things like:
- Effectively manage the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and a team of 4-5 employees to start with the goal of employing a team of 15-25 employees with 18 months
- Support the implementation of inventory accuracy systems and follow inventory keeping best practices
- Resolve discrepancies with shipping, invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports
- Manage order preparation: ensure orders are pulled, staged, and loaded correctly and that all paperwork is completed accurately
- Ensure proper packing and labeling procedures are followed by staff to prevent damage and ensure easy identification of products, including LOT/Serial tracking of goods
- Manage the material receiving process: unloading of containers/trailers, ensure inbound material is properly inspected, counted, and recorded in line with company and Quality control procedures; ensure material is inspected and meets standards before being placed in Inventory system
- Manage inventory: make efficient use of warehouse space to store/display materials, ensure organized inventory of materials, conduct monthly inventory cycle counts, inspect quality of inventory, and follow FIFO inventory storage and retrieval practices; move and replenish stock as needed
- Manage the warehouse budget and implement solutions in a timely and cost-efficient manner
- Work in collaboration with Distribution Operations leadership to develop an effective warehouse layout that accounts for product flow, equipment, and product handling systems
- Implement, monitor, and follow safety protocols and policies
- Effectively communicate with partner warehouses and Distribution Operations leadership on planning, scheduling, and inventory maintenance
- Maintain a positive culture among the team and peers, foster open communication, and resolve existing or potential conflicts among staff members
Desired Skills & Experience: Here’s what we think it will take to thrive in this role:
- 10 years of broad work experience in a warehouse/distribution center preferred
- 5 years of supervisory experience preferred (preferably in warehouse, distribution center or logistics management)
- Computer literate (Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word) Experience with TMS & WMS systems a plus
- Organized and detail oriented
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Must pass DOT background check
- Excellent interpersonal, team building, delegating and follow-up skills
- Ability to travel within the U.S.
