Job Title: Director of Human Resources
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director of Human Resources to join our client's Human Resources team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the hospitality industry and extensive experience working with labor unions. The Director of Human Resources will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of human resources management, including employee relations, recruitment, training and development, compensation and benefits, and compliance with labor laws and union agreements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement human resources policies and procedures that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Manage employee relations issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans, in accordance with company policies and union contracts.
- Lead the recruitment and selection process for all positions within the organization, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and union agreements.
- Oversee training and development initiatives to enhance the skills and capabilities of employees at all levels.
- Administer compensation and benefits programs, including salary administration, employee benefits enrollment, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for union representatives, negotiating collective bargaining agreements and addressing labor relations issues in a fair and equitable manner.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as union contracts.
- Partner with department managers to develop and implement strategies for workforce planning and talent management.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors on employee relations matters, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to employee personnel files, payroll, and other HR-related documents.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in human resources management, particularly as they relate to the hospitality industry and labor relations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources management, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership role in the hospitality industry.
- Demonstrated experience working with labor unions, including contract negotiations, grievance handling, and labor relations.
- Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding creative solutions to complex issues.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of HR professionals.
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Proficiency in HRIS software and other HR-related technology platforms.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
